You studied (blank) in college. What are you doing now?

Majic eyes, persons getting out of college and not getting a college level job is not that unusual today. Ross Perot used to talk about it and it is a very pressing problem in America today that becomes a hot issue from time to time. I know a girl who had a degree and was making between 6 and 7 dollars an hour until she got a second degree.

I was living in Canada at that time, but I think it would apply here in the US too. Seems that a college degree is becoming less and less desirable these days. Sometimes I wonder if it's even worth pursuing for some, especially after spending all that money.

I studied FINE ART in college! :D

I am nvr happy, but always lazy.

I did alot of differnt jobs in entertainment, and met awesome people, which led me to my shitty writing job.

I especailly want to kill myself, bcause I shouldn't be writing. I think most of these people on this board (all, but i'm a bit bigheaded) write better than me. But you do what your paid for. . .right?

i think ppl go to college with the wrong intentions sumtimes. they go to party and study. college isnt for partying or studying, it is about getting internships, getting to know your boss real well, then convince your boss to promise you that position that opened up.

Majic eyes, I think that it matters what your degree is in. Some degrees require a masters degree or higher to get a decent job with.

I studied African American studies and psychology and I am the director of an African American drug prevention agency. I don't regret what I chose but I do regret negating the business and power aspects of my field. I regret the years spent trying to put bandaids on gunshot wounds.

Sometimes I wish I would have focused on cultural anthropology but I have a hard time watching and not jumping in the fray. I am a born social worker.

Yes and no. Some advanced degrees (such as MBA's) are a dime a dozen these days that they really don't beckon much attention anymore. But then, if you had a degree in something like Philosophy, English or Psychology, yeah, you're gonna need to further your education.

Even with econ, they want an advanced degree more and more these days. But a masters in econ really only leads to very specific jobs.
