Departure Tax??

I heard Rio had one also, but I never paid it...

I didn't even get fingerprinted and photographed when I went to Rio last month... I found that odd, but just kept on keeping on...
Whatever--

Departure tax is usually already included in Airport taxes, and usually you don't have to pay because you did pay it already
And as I know it's about 35$.

Oh, well fair enough... I just knew nothing of it, maybe they did work it in there somewhere...

I'm not upset about it, hell, they certainly have every right to do it, I had just heard about it, and thought maybe they didn't like me..

I already felt like a second rate U.S. Citizen when they didn't fingerprint and photograph me... I had my photograph face all prepared, and was working super hard on NOT giving them the finger, or even have them mistake any gestures I made as the finger..

only to be waived through...
Whatever--

And the proof that you paid it is that little piece of paper that you are given when you enter Brazil. Loose it and you might have to pay it again...

At least nobody needed to take off their shoes and belt to get a plane to US. When visiting a country go with a open mind.
